Lake Lodge Cabin North Wales

CROCODILE PONDS

A PRIVATE AND EXCLUSIVE FISHING/ADVENTURE CAMP IN NORTH WALES

Tired of tent camping? Glamping not your thing? Fed up of crowded sites and crowded fishing lakes? We have just the place for you. Crocodile Ponds camp is a fantastic totally private and exclusive fishing/exploring location for just two persons, in rural North Wales. Whether you want to fish, explore or just chill out, it is the perfect location for your next adventure.

Situated just 20 minutes’ drive south of A55 Conwy/Llandudno and the sea, and 30 minutes east of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park, it is the ideal base for exploring the whole of North Wales, with local walks and cycle routes a plenty.

The lake view cabin is situated on the edge of a lovely four acre woodland with nature walk and has breath-taking views over the three acre lake with island and surrounding hillsides.

The cabin is fitted with two wooden beds and a wood burning stove for cooking and heating. Very basic (rustic) but comfortable, warm and cosy,  perfect for those seeking a genuine authentic old time out-door cabin experience with no mod cons.  Please note there is no electricity and no wi-fi in the cabin. Though wi-fi is available in the parking area.

Most guests bivy by the lake anyway, as it is best not to leave those rods unattended for too long, those carp will have them away!!! There is plenty of room to set up your bivy, and you can drive up to the camp site with all your gear and trailer if you use one.

Outside the cabin is a separate storage shed for all your gear and also a separate proper old Porcelain 'flushing' toilet. There is also a covered veranda with bench so you can sit outside no matter what the weather.

There is a campfire pit just outside the cabin with seating and a separate BBQ for your use. There is also enough room at the side of the cabin for a tent should you wish to use one, for yourselves or for guests (by special arrangement only).

The lake is full of wild common carp, many  well over 20lbs and some over 30lbs. After twenty years the big carp are notoriously wild and wily and hard to catch and even harder to land (they are real hook straitening fighters and know all the tricks). You can fish from 12 lake-side pegs or there is a rowing boat at your disposal you can fish from or just chill out in. You can fish ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT.

The whole pitch gives you that wonderful quiet and peaceful middle of nowhere vibe and yet you are only a few hundred metres from the main house. The site is surrounded and sheltered by rolling hillsides and green pastures, and is quite stunning, you will absolutely love it, we think its the the best view in North Wales.

All wonderfully lit at night with lanterns, all you need to bring are your supplies, fishing rods and sleeping bags (including a pillow of some kind). A head torch is also a MUST. Fresh water and toilet paper is provided along with a kettle,  cooking cans, water jug and washing bowl.

The BEST thing about the camp is that you have the entire site and lake exclusively to yourself, so you have absolute privacy (except for the site staff and lake rangers occasionally checking to see that you are having a good time and feeding the fish).

Parking is at the main house, so your car is only a minute away and totally safe night and day. If you have an appropriate 4x4 you can park by the cabin.

Site is for two - four persons only. (More by special arrangement only).

Persons 18 are only allowed when accompanied by a responsible adult.

Dogs are not allowed on the site (because of the crocodiles and the triffid!). We love dogs but we have sheep and ground nesting birds and other wildlife we do not wish to disturb.

Places are limited so please book ASAP to avoid disappointment.
